MY FARRIER!!

MY FARRIER!!

Its always a nice surprise when he arrives on time,Cash is on a 5 week schedule, whats normal for the most competition horses.
In my opinion a perfect shoeing is the most important for having a sound horse, sometimes its just difficult to know what is the perfect one, learning by seeing, reading and feeling like anything else in this sport is my advice.
Small changes today, means that cash is sensitive in his feet for the next 2 days,he can get little balance problems as he is very sensitive and has shivering, like a Child getting shoes on for the first time.
Therefore it is very important with very tiny changes if needed, but small changes can do wonders with a good farrier, but also the opposite if the farrier like to try out new things to much,i also got to experience it?

A rounder toe,and the shoe little more moved behind to get a softer rollover, but it needs to fit in with your horse movement,so the farrier needs to be good.
Cash gets new shoes at least a week before the event, and 2 days walk after the farrier has been there, but that doesnt mean the same has to be done for your horse.
Every horse is different as we human.

Thank you for reading..
Anita.
