Taiwan was a part of my life….

Taiwan was a part of my life….

At Schockemøhle i injured my hand pretty bad in one event so I got introduced to teach a Taiwanese family over a period of time until my hand got healed, that It got to a collaboration for the next 6 years and a
huge lifechange i did not expect from the very first, this opportunity made me stay by Schockemøhle for a long time.
I was commuting between Germany and Taiwan for more than 4 years to teach the family of 3.
a unforgettable time that has left their mark in my heart and part of it I want to share with you.
The flight took more than 16 hours but the long journey weighed in with incredible first class service on Cathey Pacific Airlines. just the journey was an experience in the beginning, also by arrival to get picked up in the finest car with privat driver
gave me a cold first impression but also impressiv at start.
I did not think too far ahead, then the journey would become too long and to far ahead and maybe also little scary, and i would miss my horses even more, this is also something I apply today, when I have some tough days to take one step at the time.
The family treated me absolutely wonderful, especially the gentleman in the house and the son was really cordial, the 2 girls were really interested to learn riding and talent they had all 3, with great equestrian progress in short time,of course it became very pleasant and good for me to be in Taiwan.
Every day after school was set aside for training 8 horses divided on 3 riders, time was a gift, private tutor followed up by evening dinner were scedueled on time.
Weekends were set aside for competitions,I had never seen such primitive shows before in my life with sand so deep and fence colour matching the ground, the horse could hardly galopp, jumping 110 was really not possible in my eyes,
In Taiwan i got introduced to high price money in small classes,if time allowed i would consider to compeet 1 meter myself.
The shows improved rapidly fast and showing got to a nice experience,i loved the special celebration after every show.
I was in Taiwan up to 5 weeks at most 3 days the shortest, 4 times a year sometimes more, of course, certain period went slow i could hardly wait coming back home to my team start showing again.
I was used to ride from early morning to late evening it was and is also my only passion in life.
I was included as a family member, even the trip to Paris got introduced to me in a completely different way visiting Castle and other fancy places that I’ve not even dreamed of, It was truly an amazing experience.
Mornings in Taiwan got lonely,so I got introduced to my first ever computer, time went immediately faster,on dayli basis since i left home as 16 year old, i was used to update mum and dad by phone, from the other side of the world this got complicated, the computer made it possible.
Undiscribible facilitires were i lived became my daily routine, food from the finest ingredients had to be exercised away, now that I didn’t ride that much.
From this time in Taiwan I had to learn to happily thrive in my own company, but i got a very special friend in Taiwan a friendship that will never be forgotten,a person who meant huge to me than and also today.
After 2 year training in Taiwan We started to compeet the school holidays in Europe, 2 trucks 4 Grooms 10 horses, the weekends got busy and everything had to run smoothly, at the beginning the small local events, ending at Asian games after 7 years of training it was a bit of a journey who wouldnt be possible without Stable Schockemøhle manegement.
I learned that everything is possible if you have a supporting team behind you.
Today after a longer break from riding,1 of the 3 is successfuly compeeting with 6 great horses,so my big afford was happily not wasted.
Thank you for reading
Anita.
